The Ministry of Education is pausing payment of the short-term relief teachers two-hour minimum entitlement remediation and undertaking further work on the payroll data.
It intends to make the remediation payment, which was scheduled for 28 May, as soon as possible and said the brief pause is not indicative of any change to the plan to remediate current and former short-term relief teachers.
The short-term relief teachers two-hour minimum entitlement remediation is part of a programme of work to address non-compliance in the schools payroll to ensure school employees receive what they’re owed.
No action is needed from employees who are due a short-term relief teachers two-hour minimum entitlement payment. More information is available on the Ministry’s website
