Variations to the Support Staff in Schools’ and Kaiārahi i te Reo and Therapists’ collective agreements

Variations to the Support Staff in Schools' Collective Agreement (SSSCA) and the Kaiārahi i te Reo and Therapists' Collective Agreement (KRTCA) were agreed on 27 July 2023 as a result of a Public Sector Pay Adjustment (PSPA).

Employees covered by the SSSCA or the KRTCA who were employed and members of NZEI Te Riu Roa or E Tū as of 1 December 2022, will receive a lump sum payment of up to $750 in pay period 16, pay day 31 October. This payment will be pro-rated for part-time and casual staff.

Additionally, all employees covered by the SSSCA or KRTCA or individual employment agreements, and employed as of 1 December 2023, will receive a one-off lump sum payment of up to $500, in pay period 19, pay day 12 December. This will be pro-rated for part-time and casual staff.

The pay dates for pay rate increases resulting from this variation are:

• the pay rates effective 1 December 2023 will be paid from pay period 19, pay day 12 December 2023
• backpay of the first pay rate increase (1 December 2022 to 30 November 2023) will be paid in pay period 25, pay day 5 March 2024
• termination and holiday pay adjustments will be paid in pay period 26, pay day 18 March 2024, and in pay period 1, pay day 1 April 2024
