See you later winter and welcome to spring! Here are a few payroll reminders for your school.

ACC 2024 levy will be debited on 10 September

Your school’s 2024 accident compensation corporation (ACC) levy invoice is available to download from EdPay. Go to EdPay > Reports tab > ACC EOY report > 2024 invoice.

On Tuesday 10 September 2024, Education Payroll will debit your levy amount from your school’s account. Please ensure there are enough funds in your account on that date to cover this payment.

Schools need to pay an ACC employer levy every year. The levy covers work-related injuries for school employees whose salary is paid from operational grant funding. The school’s leviable earnings amount is based on its bulk operational grant funding. ACC sets the rate, which is $0.26 per $100 of leviable earnings.

End of Year/Start of Year and emergency contact survey

End of Year (EOY) and Start of Year (SOY) processing is when schools need to send or submit information to Education Payroll so that employees are paid correctly over the term four break and from the beginning of the school year. The EOY screen will open during October–November, and the SOY screen is open during December–February.

Earlier this week we emailed schools with a link to a survey. The survey is to find out if you would like extra support from us during EOY/SOY. We also need to know who we can contact at your school if there is a payroll emergency when the school is closed.

The person at your school who will be doing the EOY/SOY processing needs to answer the survey. Please only send one response for your school. Thank you if you have sent your survey back already.

Earlier cut-off time for SUE report adjustments in pay period 16

The Labour Day public holiday is on Monday 28 October, and this will affect a payroll calendar date in pay period 16 (pay day 29 October).

The Staff Usage & Expenditure (SUE) report adjustments for pay period 16 will need to be submitted by 12 noon on Friday 25 October instead of the usual 5pm cut-off. We apologise for the inconvenience. Please plan for this earlier cut-off time.

Can you hear us?

You told us (in our customer surveys) that our payroll advisors can be hard to hear on the phone sometimes. As a result, we have updated our school account teams’ headsets. We will be checking in with you in our next survey to see if our updated headsets have improved the sound quality for you.
