Decile discretionary funding
Deciles divide schools into 10 groupings where decile 1 schools are in areas of greatest socio-economic disadvantage and decile 10 schools are in areas of greatest socio-economic advantage.
How it Works
Principals in decile 1-4 schools, bound by the appropriate collective agreement or employed on a Ministry-promulgated individual employment agreement, receive this payment additional to their base salary.
How do I apply?
The Ministry calculates this allowance and it is paid automatically to principals who meet the allowance criteria.
From January 2023, deciles will be phased out. Equity funding will be calculated using the Equity Index.
