Understanding autopays and term changes
Hello everyone - there have been some changes to usual processes made to ensure relievers and timesheet employees are paid during the lockdown period. Here's what you need to know.
- If you've already entered timesheets for these staff up to April 7, we will make these payments.
- If you haven't, you don't need to do anything. We will calculate an amount for them based on an average of the hours they've worked for each pay period this year (2020).
- If you've got some timesheet hours for a staff member that you've not yet sent in, but you'd like included in our calculations, do this by 5pm on Wednesday (April 1).
- We will keep paying them this same average amount during the lockdown, irrespective of the term dates (they will continue to be paid through the school holidays even if they are term-time only).
- The Government is covering this cost to ensure everyone continues to be paid. There is no additional cost to schools.
- You don't need to send in any more time sheets during the lockdown.
- If you have a staff member with a special case, and you think their calculation will be wrong, contact the Ministry at employment.relations@education.govt.nz
